CHRISTMAS BREAK – IN

(Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Director Michael Kampa

Music by J Bateman

Label Plaza Mayor Company Ltd

Izzy is an energetic 9-year-old. Overscheduled and running late, her parents can’t pick her up on time on the last day of school before Christmas break. A blizzard complicates the matter, but not as much so as a pair of bad guys who are freezing in an ice cream truck. The school janitor is kidnapped by them, and it’s up to Izzy to save the day.

It’s close to Christmas and nine-year-old Izzy (Cameron Seely) is desperate to get a new guitar. Her parents have promised to take her after school if they can be bothered. You see, Izzy’s parents are ridiculously consumed with their very busy jobs, to the extent that they borderline neglect their two children. So off Izzy goes to school where she spends quite a lot of time with Ray the Janitor who teaches her the guitar. Then a blizzard hits, the school closes early and all parents must come and get their kids. All except Izzy’s. We’ve already established that they are not the most reliable people.

By now, Ray has realised that Izzy is on her own in the school and goes back to get her. He then gets kidnapped by the thieves who don’t know Izzy is still there. All the while the idiot parents have crashed their car, and are attempting to get to the school by other means. That includes trying to rob a snow ski, which they also crash. I told you they’re idiots.

Of course, this is primarily a kid’s Christmas movie so everything works out in the end. Christmas Break-In is basically Home Alone with a girl in a school. Sadly, it doesn’t have any of the same comic genius, decent script or plot as it’s predecessor. To the woman on IMDB who gave it two reviews, both with 10 stars – what were you thinking????

FOREVER AND A DAY

A film by Zeke Jeremiah

Best friends embark on the challenges of Freshmen year while working through their own problems, until a tragic incident changes everything with their community lets in devastation….

Notes from the Director:

Director Zeke Jeremiah:

I had an idea for a film to create something that showed what is going on with the youth around us. Some of their thoughts and battles throughout the day. That’s where “Forever and a Day came in”. It was a challenging task and I wanted everything to have its appropriate meaning especially with coming up with the soundtrack for the film. The kids in the film are dealing with real heavy things in their life and I wanted the music to speak for them in that situation as it helped to express the feelings, they are having a long with relating to those who have been through something similar. The music was important here because it had to flow with the tone of the film, that goes with musical instruments, cadence and even lyrics. That’s where Composer Edward Antonio stepped in to bring this to life. We worked together for long hours on this as it proved to be a challenge, but that is what makes the journey of it all that much better. At the end Edward was masterful at compiling the musical notes with the tone of the film, giving it an emotional taste that will leave the audience in awe.

Notes from the Composer:

Film composer Edward Antonio:

When I first saw the film in its raw form, in my mind I could hear organic themes and orchestral tones throughout the scenes. It was obvious to me that it needed a traditional orchestra with some guitars and synths to also give it a modern feel as well. I would write several motifs and present it to the director for approval.  We would spend hours on a scene down to the second on where to place it and when to enter and exit the music. Director Zeke was also familiar with music. He was incredibly patient and wouldn’t keep quiet if he did not agree with the score of a particular scene. In the end, it was an honor to work with this director. We had the same goal, to make the music fit the scenes like the film and music were always meant to be together.

Manuel lives in a small coastal town. He plays bass in a band with his best friends. One of them is Felipe, with whom he shares a strong friendship. Unbreakable bond. Until the time comes to put it to test…

Composer Statement about the Music:

Making the music for Sublime was a very nurturing process for me. The 6 songs the protagonists band play during the story were the greatest challenge. I felt compelled to put myself in the shoes of the characters even before the casting happened. At times I went looking for my teenager rock bands experience. But hindsight was not enough, I needed to investigate the particularities of these character. How does Manu compose? Would Felipe make this riff? Would they use this word in the chorus? Would Fran sing this kind of melody?

The 3 songs from Azul’s brother band, are closer to the music that I listened to in my youth and that I still enjoy today. The composition work in this case was more natural. And regarding the incidental music, I felt those pieces had to be minimalist since the screenplay already had a lot of music performed by the characters.

For all this, I think that this album offers a kind of narrative within, and it is my wish that Sublime is a story that can be heard, even separated from its images.

Director Statement about the Music:

I’m delighted by this music. I wrote ‘band plays song 1’ or ‘Manu composes song 5’ in the screenplay. And now, after an amazing work with Emilio, I believe there couldn’t be better music for this film than this one. And I love we have this album version. I enjoy listening to it while I walk, especially when I walk in the sea shore.

JOSE PROMIS – Album “PROMISES »

JOSE PROMIS – Album “PROMISES »

World Pop from LA, Berlin…

JOSE PROMIS is a Chilean-American singer-songwriter and composer, son of the well-known Chilean literature professor José Promis.

His eponymous debut album was released in 2005 and revealed that Promis was already influenced by the French chanson method and adult pop music structure, but there was a decidedly lo-fi element to the long player. The second album Promis issued, Promis 2 (2007), uncovered further sonic touchstones which included classical, Gothic, Mediterranean, and Balkan music. In a review of Promis 2, reviewer Leonard Lair remarked of the album, “Promis 2 is too long an album to take in one sitting, but overall, it’s the slower, subtler songs that should ensure Promis has a future beyond the reputation of a showman.”

From 2008 Promis teamed up with British producer Ian Matthews in Los Angeles, who produced the third album Promis III. Matthews would become a musical partner throughout his career. The basic idea for this album was to combine Promis chansons with electronic production, putting Promis’ songs to darker synthesizer sound.

Label Plaza Mayor Company Ltd

Cd Digital & Cd Physical – Limited Edition

Welcome to the artistic world of Greg Haye discover this atypical, sensitive and generous artist with an unusual career (inspired by David Bowie, Cat Stevens or Sting, Neil Young, Ed Sheeran or Ronan Keating)…

A voice among Voices, this is how it describes itself. His first goal to become a professional footballer but health (or fate) made him stop this promising career of which he keeps a mental strength which allows him to pass the tests.

If it was necessary to make the words resonate, to stretch the emotions like flaming arrows, it is done. If we had to adorn ourselves with stars under the starry sky, we found.

Greg Haye is a wonderful traveler of horizon and depths. From the rhythmic words there is all this San Francisco could have given us. The Isle of White could be resurrected and the blue paradises would resonate. We are in the imperfections of modernity and technology without forgetting the beautiful poetic souls. Greg Have is one of his adventurous dreamers.

FABIO ABATE – Album “A Km 0”

Italian Pop…

Cd Digital & Cd Physical

“A km 0”, meaning “made at a distance of zero km”, or “zero miles recording” is the title of the new album by the Sicilian singer-songwriter Fabio Abate.

An intense musical journey that arises during the lock down period. An artisan laboratory work wanted and conceived by the singer-songwriter himself who made use of the “Km 0” rules to make it happen.

Recording live in the habitat of his own house and his personal studio, without the help of large recording studios, Fabio Abate conceives this project that ranges from electro-pop to traditional sounds, from the typical ballads of his style to the dream stories of his repertoire.

Ten unpublished songs, with an international flavor, in some of them Fabio often betrays his Sicilian origin also in the dialect and in another – sung in English – he reveals his boundless artistic nature

Fabio Abate is a singer-songwriter, artistic producer and composer from Catania.

In 2010 he released the album “Itinerario precario (Precarious Itinerary)” for Carmen Consoli’s Narciso Records, for which he was also the author. One of the songs written by Fabio, “Senza farsi male (Without getting hurt)”, was included in the soundtrack of the film “L’uomo che ama (The man who loves)” by Maria Sole Tognazzi and received

a nomination for the Nastri d’Argento and the David di Donatello as best original song.

In 2020 on the occasion of Salvatore Adamo’s 60-year career, Fabio Abate sang together with Adamo himself and Riccardo Cocciante, Morgan and other artists the song “La notte”, to remember one of the most famous songs of the Italian song that has sold over 100,000,000 copies worldwide.

Cd Digital – Cd Physical

How was THE KLYMA project born? The Klyma was born from the idea of Daniele Sorrentino (singer, musician and songwriter) and Tiberio Gracco (author and musician) to start a new project after several years of cover interpretations by artists such as Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, James Morrison, Tracy Chapman, Sam Smith, John Mayer … Many satisfactions for a project (called Young History) of published music including: over 200 events between public and private in about 2 years, over 20 million plays on streaming platforms and compliments from national and international artists . The idea of continuing to cover covers was beginning to become uninspiring, so after years, the idea of undertaking an ambitious project full of obstacles developed. The idea of writing unreleased songs was very stimulating, especially if the influences were the same as they had been carrying in their luggage for years.

Musical imprint of THE KLYMA The musical imprint of the project is constantly evolving, and this is demonstrated by the fact that all the songs, in the beginning, were in guitar and voice, or in piano and voice, therefore UNPLUGGED. The influence in the melodies is given by the artists who have marked the era covers of Daniele and Tiberio such as: John Mayer, Sam Smith, John Legend, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes … and many others. The first album has a bare character, poorly constructed, very free both at the musical level and at the level of lyrics. The clean sounds of acoustic guitars and pianos stand out, and from time to time we listen to some acoustic or electronic percussion, and some electric guitar. In the second album we have a complete transformation of the project, which while maintaining a pure identity, this is “dirtied” by oriental sounds, string quartets, samples, and sounds generated with objects. Much of this research derives from the passion that both components of the project (Daniele and Tiberio) have for the East, and in particular Japan. Tokyo is the emblem of the album, a mix of pop and Japanese culture, with sounds that emulate the instruments of that culture, and a blend of clean, dirty and trap voices (as we see in the finale). The message in a musical key is to bring a non-genre genre to Italy and the world, where every idea is put into action, then freed by a splendid violin solo in the final part of the song. Thanks go to Andrea Gargioni and Gennaro Franco, who are the actual arrangers of the album, but the contribution of Michele Vitiello (a young talent in the world of piano) and Angelo Iossa (who oversaw the vocal department) should not be forgotten. In the songs we are working on in addition to the guitars (main instrument) and the piano we have added a quartet of strings, percussion, drums and bass An evolution in writing and arrangements is clearly visible.
